Platform: Energy
The only sustainable energy is renewable energy.
Coal remained the major fuel source in 2018 for generating electricity in the United States. A report from March, 2019, says about 63% of our electricity in the US is still generated from fossil fuels.
Up until about 1961, coal remained the major fuel source for generating electricity in the United States. A report from March 2019, says about 63% of our electricity in the US is still generated from fossil fuels. Those include coal, natural gas, and other gases. These fossil fuels supply 12.6 quadrillion BTUs of primary energy to electric power plants each year. Out of the four different types of coal used in the United States. Only one is renewable. That means most fossil fuel sources are not able to be replenished.
The United States consumes a lot of electricity. A lot of energy. In 2017, about 20% of electricity in the US was generated from nuclear energy. And another 17% was generated from renewable energy sources. A report by the U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA), states, “Renewable energy gives us the ability to harness the power of the wind and the power of the sun and save it for later use and more.”
Wind and solar energy have made more than their debut in the world of energy. These are two energy sources that are no longer just theories. Wind and solar energy, along with other renewable sources have made the US a leader in using Renewable Energy Consumption by Source (RECS) in our global economy.
There are five main renewable energy sources in the United States. These include hydro-electricity, biomass petrol, geothermal energy, wind energy, and solar power sources, (Including distributed solar).
One main energy goal: To use sustainable energy to fuel our needs for energy.
By using more sustainable, renewable energy for our homes, this will give us a new appreciation for our communities as well. It will provide much needed employment growth opportunities that invigorate our economy. Creating jobs, as well as furthering the workforce of farmers and the engineering communities. People asking questions of how we can further create plant-based fuel made from waste products from our homes. We will begin fueling the future with new ideas. And those ideas will be sustainable for the needs of future generations.
